STORY
Tomoya Arai was born in Osaka, Japan in 1983. He started carving wood at age of 23 developing his signature hatchet carved technique. Today he’s known for his beautiful bowls with their rough and sculptural shape and soft lacquered touch. The bowls are made for everyday use. Arai lives in the beautiful countryside of Shimato where continues to create his unique work
